Happy New Year!
As the dawn of the new year breaks, I am thrilled to announce the members for 2018 PSA Board and Executive.
As you are most likely aware, following the 2018 convention, Tarran Deane will be taking over as PSA President. I believe our future is in very good hands.
Tarran has an excellent grip on corporate governance and her detailed focus has really helped us to improve some of our key processes to better support PSA’s future. Tarran is a successful leadership speaker and coach who is on track to achieve her goal of CSP during her tenure as President. Tarran will be supported by her Vice President.
We are fortunate to have Russell Pearson stepping into the Vice President role this year at convention. Russell was the 2015 Victorian/Tasmanian/South Australian Chapter President and the 2016 Victorian/Tasmanian Chapter President. He continues to support the Victorian Chapter leadership team. Russell has been one the key people behind our Many Faces of PSA initiative and the promotion for Convention. Russell is the CEO of Crimson Fox, a marketing company servicing medium to large enterprises. The main focus of his speaking is presenting to business groups and training for Crimson Fox clients.
Manpreet Singh is relatively new to our board. She is a lawyer who practices in Melbourne. She joined us in 2017 as our Company Secretary. Manpreet studied law in Melbourne and also completed a Masters at Tilburg University in the Netherlands focusing on Cybercrime, Liability & Internet, Contracts & ICT, Privacy & Data Protection. She has been a real asset to the board in her short time with us.
John Driscoll CSP will also be continuing his service on the board. His experience in the Sales arena as well as formal training in corporate governance with AICD and board experience have ensured we operate our board with the rigour required and keep one eye firmly on the financials.
Tony Eades has served on the board for a couple of years and continues to contribute his marketing expertise to us. His positive contribution to the Many Faces of PSA as well as the Convention Marketing strategy have clearly made a difference to PSA.
Donna Hanson CSP has served on the board on multiple occasions. This current stint of three years ends at convention. Donna has brought a fantastic strategic mindset to the board as well as an eye for detail. She has made significant contributions across many areas of PSA, most recently she has been the board representative for the Platform Professionals Summit. Fortunately she has agreed to take on this caretaker role and work with Keith Abraham CSP for the next 12 months.
Brian Waring is one of the longest serving members of our board team. In his role as treasurer, he continues to keep us on the straight and narrow. Brian has implemented additional checks and balances in our reporting and financial processing to ensure PSA Finances and the board members are well protected and any risks are minimised. Unfortunately for us Brian will be departing the board at the March convention so we are currently looking for a new treasurer.
In 2018 we will be having some new members join the board. The process to recruit members that best meet our needs and reflect the best interest of the association has commenced and we look forward to welcoming them to our board. Maybe that person could be you?
The future of PSA is looking strong as we continue to implement ideas and strategies created by boards before us and continue to create new strategies to continue to grow our success into the future.
Warwick Merry CSP
2017 National President
